Ik citeer vandaag een van de 25 regels voor effectieve communicatie volgens de gids die Frank Lutz in 2009 heeft opgesteld ten behoeve van The Israel Project for Security, Freedom and Peace (getiteld “The Israel’s Project’s Global Language Dictionary 2009”); deze gids voor “words that work” is bestemd voor gericht gebruik in de “media oorlog” ter verdediging van Israel. Kortom, een product van de “hasbara” met het doel om te spreken met één mond.

De hasbara regel: “There is NEVER, EVER, any justification for the deliberate slaughter of innocent women and children. NEVER. The primary Palestinian public relations goal is to demonstrate that the so-called “hopelessness of the oppressed Palestinians” is what causes them to go out and kill children. This must be challenged immediately, aggressively, and directly.” (=regel 4, p.7)

De aanbevolen tekst: “We may disagree about politics and we may disagree about economics. But there is one fundamental principle that all peoples from all parts of the globe will agree on: civilized people do not target innocent women and children for death.” (ibidem)

De ironie van hetgeen de Palestijnen in deze regel wordt aangewreven spreekt vanzelf, zeker in het licht van het recente rapport van de VN Onderzoekscommissie voor de Bezette Palestijnse Gebieden van 18 juni 2026 bestaande uit Srinivasan Muralidhar (India), Florence Mumba (Zambia) en Chris Sidoti (Australia), getiteld ““The essence of childhood has been destroyed”: Israel’s deliberate targeting of Palestinian children in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 7 October 2023” (A/HRC/62/CRP.2 https://www.ohchr.org/sites/default/files/documents/hrbodies/hrcouncil/sessions-regular/session62/a-hrc-62-crp-2.pdf)

Toevoeging d.d. 29 juni 2026: Toevallig kwam vandaag ook het rapport van B’Tselem uit over het aantal doden van minderjarige Palestijnen in de Bezette Westoever met gerichte schoten dus met “open-vuur” door het Israelische leger en de kolonisten (in aanvulling op de moord op minderjarigen in Gaza met bombardementen, quadcopters etc.): “Over the course of two years and eight months, from 7 October 2023 to 7 June 2026, Israeli forces killed 235 Palestinian children and teenagers in the West Bank. Five others were killed by settlers.
